Carcharodontosaurus was a large theropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 100 to 93 million years ago. Measuring up to 13 meters (43 feet) in length and weighing around 8 metric tons, it was one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs. Carcharodontosaurus had a massive skull with large, serrated teeth designed for slicing through flesh, and its robust build suggests it was a powerful predator. Its fossils have been found in Africa, particularly in regions that are now Morocco and Algeria, offering valuable insights into the diversity of Cretaceous predators.
