The Old City Hall is a medieval landmark in the heart of Prague's Old Town Square (Staré Město). The 70m (230ft) tall gothic tower was completed in the mid-14th century and features the famous astrological clock. Connected to the clock tower are several buildings dating back to the Renaissance. On the tower's northern side are the remains of the Old City Hall's north wing, which was destroyed by a fire during the Prague Uprising at the end of World War II. The collection of buildings that make up Prague's Old City Hall is one of the most famous and most popular pieces of history in Prague and in Europe as a whole.
