The Los Angeles City Hall is a 454 foot (138m) tall skyscraper in its namesake city in California. It was designed by Austin, Parkinson and Martin and completed in 1928. The building houses municipal offices for its namesake city. It was the tallest building in Los Angeles and California for almost 40 years. Its striking Art Deco massing and stepped-pyramid roof make it an icon of the city. Using concrete sourced from every county in the state and an elaborate earthquake protection system in the building's foundation, LA City Hall is a uniquely Californian building.
