This pack contains the 2 tallest and most iconic skyscrapers from pre-War Newark, New Jersey. The two buildings are listed below:
The National Newark Building is a 466ft (142m) tall skyscraper in Newark, New Jersey. The neoclassical building was designed by John & Wilson Ely and completed in 1931. It reigned as New Jersey’s tallest building for over 50 years, and is still to this day the tallest in Newark. Its stately but austere design and heftiness give it a formidable dominance over the city.
1180 Raymond Boulevard stands 449ft (137m) tall, just a block away from the National Newark Building. Originally named the Lefcourt-Newark Building, the skyscraper now goes by the name Eleven80. This building was designed by Frank Grad & Sons and completed in 1930. For a brief span, it was the state and city’s tallest building. The use of simple but stylish art deco ornamentation makes 1180 Raymond Blvd an elegant icon of Newark. Since a sweeping renovation in the 1980s, the building is now home to over 300 apartments in the heart of downtown.
