A pavilion is a place for rest and leisurely viewing. Nestled among the waterscapes and landscapes, it is an important embell of a natural painting and a fine spot for people to rest, cool off and enjoy the scenery. In Chinese garden architecture, pavilions are the most colorful design. They come in a wide variety of shapes, each one standing gracefully and charmingly. Their planes can be square, round, hexagonal, octagonal fan-shaped, or peony-shaped, and they can have single-eaved or double-eaved roofs. The number of columns may also vary to their plane arrangement.
