The Chicago Board of Trade is a 605 foot (184m) art deco skyscraper in Chicago, Illinois. Designed by Holabird & Root, this building was completed in 1930. It stood as Chicago's tallest building for decades, towering over the the Southern end of LaSalle St, the city's central financial hub. Inside the building lies the heart of the United States's commodities futures trading through the Chicago Mercentaile Exchange. The main trading floor was once the world's largest. Atop the building's pyramid roof is a statue of Ceres, the Roman goddess of grain.
