30 Rockefeller Plaza, also known as 30 Rock, the RCA Building, the GE Building, or the Comcast Building, is an 850ft (259m) tall skyscraper in New York City. The centerpiece of its namesake megadevelopment, it has held its place as one of the tallest and most famous buildings in the city for over 90 years. The titanic building was designed by influential architect Raymond Hood and completed in 1933.Its distinctive cascading form continues to guide the massing of skyscrapers to this very day. Alongside its height and the architectural heft of Rockefeller Center, 30 Rockefeller is home to the recording of Saturday Night Live and one of the most renowned observation decks in the world, the Top of the Rock. While not on the cultural calibre of the Empire State or Chrysler Buildings, 30 Rockefeller Center is still one of the most recognizable buildings in America. It has been featured in countless movies, TV shows, postcards, and more.
