Cigarette box with Fatima's Hand.
The Jamsa or Hamsa, also known as the Hand of Fatima, is a hand-shaped symbol popular throughout the Middle East and North Africa. It is a symbol of supposed protection commonly used as a defense.
Having documented its existence since ancient times, it has been conjectured that its origins are in Ancient Egypt or in Carthage (present-day Tunisia) associated with the goddess Tanit.
