3D MODEL DESCRIPTION
Lampshades inspired by the visual appearance of honeycombs. Using hexagonal prismatic cells built by honey bees in their nests, the lampshades are able to create a soft light and bring a cosy feeling to the environment.
These lamps are designed in different shapes to allow for a variety of styles, tastes and spaces. Other designs can be found in my profile.
3D PRINTING SETTINGS
The minimalist design can be produced in any color or size and has a wide variety of possibilities. I used IKEA table lamp for the bottom. You can used the pin on the lamp to fix it or the holes on the top can be used to be tied with strings and threads. In this way it allows more customization to fit in any socket or any other specification by the customer. You can use E14 candle lamps on any standard hanging light cord or a low temp bulb such as a LED bulbs. The bulb needs to be narrow enough to go through the opening of the lampshade.
The lampshades are designed to be printed out of PLA material. When designing these shades I took into account the technology and the way how the object is printed. The design avoids using any support material and uses as little material as possible to print a very detailed and beautiful but firm structure.
The model was created in Rhino using parametric design and can be printed by any 3D printing software. You can use the settings as follows:
I used Anycubic I3 for the print and it turned out great!
I hope you enjoy this design and feel free to improve it.
