Two-pieces table lamp, shaped as a cartoonish hermit-crab
After months of research and trials, I' ve found a way to print an easy-to-assemble table lamp with working threads for the bulb socket. The lamp consists of two main pieces: A) the crab-body base, with a hollow printable M10 thread for the bulb socket (E14) and B) The shell-shaped lampshade, which screws around the outer perimeter of the base, 1mm thick to allow light passing through
There is no need to use glue, as all the assembling (which is pretty straightforward) is done via screwing the two pieces together so, with just two printings and a few electrical supplies, you will have a nice working lamp. The socket screws around the central, hollow thread which, being hollow, allows for the wire to go through the bottom. Since most bulb sockets have screw-holders for the wire, there is no need to solder either.
Depending on the light bulb chosen, it can have a soft warm light or a bright White one.
The design needs a relatively small amount of material, as the lampshade is 1mm thin and hollow, while the base can be printed with low infill without sacrificing sturdiness
LED bulbs are advised, due to low warmth emission
Size cannot be altered, due to the threads being fine tuned for the E14 socket
