Repair catch for Smpl Hmn kitchen bin. Added filets and ribs improving overal durability and strength. This is not an OEM replacement part, but a similar design to the original and is no way endorsed by the original manufacturer, however helps to support sutainable repair when replacement parts are not available, and reducing material going to landfill.
There are 3 files:a single part which should be printed flat side down using a flexible filament like a fairly firm TPUa split part (2 sub parts base and hinge), where the top should be printed flat side down, and the hinge layed on its back (see renderings) - this allows the catch to be printed in PLA, laying the hinge on its back increases hinge strength as the layer lines will run vertically up the hinge. These 2 parts can be glued using cyanoacrylate adhesive forming the single part as above
Both parts are designed to make use of the original stainless cover button salvaged from the original part.
