The current thickness of the mold shell is set at 3mm, you can scale the model up for sure but I would not scale the model down any.

The plug is just a little taller then the mold, it is setup so you can print and vacuum form multiples copies. If you just want to make the peeps out of the mold, the plug is not necessary.

For resin prints I recommend using a food safe dental/flexible resin.

For FFF/FDM prints use TPE or TPU, however you can definitely use other filamants. The mold is designed with a thinness to allow for a nice flex to pop out the pieces, assuming you use the flexible filament or similar...
