You've probably guessed by now but I'm a fan of proper classic rock, and one of the great iconic bands I'm always happy to listen to (and watch) is the mighty Pink Floyd. This latest coaster is my tribute to Floyd and more specifically their groundbreaking 1979 album 'The Wall'. It was really one of the first concept albums (along with other such epic works as 'Tommy' by The Who) which didn't follow the usual way of an album with distinct tracks on it you could pull out and listen to individually, but instead told a story when you listened to the album from beginning to end. It produced such classic tracks as 'Run Like Hell', 'Comfortably Numb' (with David Gilmour's amazing guitar solo) and, of course, the number one hit single 'Another Brick In The Wall'
The logo depicted on this coaster is from the video to that single, and also taken from the movie 'The Wall' starring Bob Geldof as Pink, the artist whose rise and fall is told through the album. It represents the marching hammers of totalitarianism, something which is as relevant today (some would say even more so) than it was at the time the album was released. Seriously, if you haven't got the album you REALLY need to get it, especially if you're young and need to hear great works from back before music started to suck.
The coaster also has holes in the back to be retrofitted with 3mm x 5mm neodymium magnets (available elsewhere in my store), so it can be used as a magnetic sign or plaque or so it can be permanently mounted.
