Large Modular Hexacopter Drone Frame

Large Modular Hexacopter Drone Frame 3D print model

Description

This is a drone design I am working on which is intended to be used as a BVLOS technology demonstator, and general tinkerings.

The arms are modular and should (roughly) accommodate anything up to a 12" rotor by adding/removing extension module to rotor arms.

This is currently unfinished and is missing a central chasis for electronics, plus I intend to also redesign the legs with extensions to allow for greater ground clearance and accommodate moderately sized gimbals.

Hoping to be able to loft the weight of a DSLR, or about 2-3 pizzas. Goal is to fly it autonomously with arducopter and explore the limits of any updated capabilities FAA allows in near future.

I originally designed this to be modular to fit my tiny printer, but then realized that I could use huge props or smaller 6 inch props if I remove the extenders. This could allow for multiple configurations to be set up from the same set of basic parts.

All through-holes are intended for an M2 bolt. It should be perfectly clearanced to not require a nut (except for truss segments - locking nuts recommended). Do not over tighten to prevent stripping.
