DESCRIPTION

This is a model of the katana Shusui from One Piece.

Note that there are options for the hamon line shape. this is because of the differences in design of the sword in the manga and anime. I Printed the rounded style for convenience, but I have provided both styles in STL format.

  • Requires:
  • Glue suitable for the plastic you are using
  • Sand paper
  • 5mm threaded rod
  • Handle wrapping ribbon
  • Filament colours to match the Shusui colour scheme

In modeling this sword I wanted to create a striking and accurate representation of a katana. the design utilizes the colour of the plastic rather than paint.

The katana is therefore Modeled as closely as possible to a real katanas dimentions while still being printable.

The construction of the sword is also close to how a real one would be constructed, whith a few consessions made for ease of printing (namely the joining of the Tsuba and Hakabi )

It is a composite sword blade and is comprised of many pieces that are then sanded and pollished.

The handle or Tsuka has a Same Hada pattern on the scales and is intended to be wrapped in ribbon or Ito.

The end result is satisfying and beautiful. It is delicate, though can be handled and swung around.

Note that I improved the models after I made my one and there are a few small differences between the pictures of mine and the models I provided:

  • Now only has one threaded rod
  • Now has a pin to hold the handle on

I also provided Step files so that you can customize the models if you want.
