Prusa MK3S PSU Under Table Mount Holder

Prusa MK3S PSU Under Table Mount Holder 3D print model

Description

I was building a LACK Enclosure for my Prusa MK3S printer and read that the power supply unit (PSU) should ideally be kept outside the enclousre as the electronics inside should not be exposed to high temperatures for long term.

Unfortunately, the mount that came with the design files from Prusa did not fit the black PSU shipped with my printer.

I decided on this under table mount as I have a large box that stores filaments kept under the table and I want the flexibility to drag the box out from any direction.

This under table mount uses 2 square knobs to lock it in place when sloted into the bracket held by 2 screws under the table. The square hooks is screwed onto the PSU itself with the same 2 holes which was used to mount it on the original Prusa MK3S frame.

The switch and the power supply connector is faced conveniently outwards for easy access. My PSU is mounted on the left side of the table, but the same frame will work for front, left and rear mouting as well.

Do take note that the orignal cables are a little short so my wires are currenlty routed under the left side of the acrylic sheet and not from the rear.

Do note that the PSU mount is a little bit bigger that the build plate of the MK3S so I designed it in 2 seperate parts, you just need to use any superglue to stick the 2 pieces together.

Also check out my Frame Support with PSU Mount, which uses the same square hooks.

These are the settings I used for this print:

  1. I recommned PETG for this print but PLA should work just fine.
  2. Layer height: 0.2mm
  3. Infill - 15%
  4. Supports - 7% (or less) auto generated support, just enough for the sockets to print out cleanly and for the hooks to print properly
  5. Z distance - 0.125 (for easier support removal)
  6. Other settings should be default
