Pet Collar - Fully 3D Printable

Pet Collar - Fully 3D Printable 3D print model

Description

This STL pet collar package is designed for high-resolution 3D printing. The package includes all pet collar components to fit a 12-15 inch (circumference) neck, such as that of a pug, cocker spaniel and most terriers. A 12 inch collar may be appropriate for very large cats. The components may also be scaled in slicer software to adjust for larger or smaller animals. Beware that reducing the scale will challenge the resolution of desktop FDM printers, and hence the quality of the printed parts.

The collar should be printed in a flexible material. The collar size requires a large printer platform. If you wish to segment the collar parts to fit a smaller platform, please contact me. I can divide the collar into three interlocking parts for an additional charge. For best results, the collar should be printed in its round orientation as provided in the STL so that the layers support the closed, worn orientation.

All other components should be printed using a hard, durable material such as ABS or PLA. The majority of stress is applied to the Tag Ring Assembly, so these parts should be printed at the highest quality possible with 100% infill.

Assembly:

The Buckle Pin is inserted into the collar through the middle opening, followed by Buckle Piece 1 through the side. Buckle Piece 2 is then inserted from the other side to interlock with Buckle Piece 1. Only a small amount of glue should be used inside Buckle Piece 2 to prevent overflow onto the Buckle Rod during the drying process. The Buckle Pin rotates freely around the rod of the Buckle Piece 1 & 2 Assembly.

Tag Ring Piece 2 should be inserted into it's collar slot before Tag Ring Piece 1. Glue should be added to the socket of Tag Ring Piece 1 before interlocking with Tag Ring Piece 2. Clean any glue that overflows during the drying process.
