Why such a design on the basis? ...
The pedestals were specially designed with HP MJF and EOS SLS processes in mind. The task was to create a structure as thin as possible and stiff enough, and in addition, the possibility of attaching steel discs or magnets to attach the figures. The pedestal has special slots for attaching magnets at the top and bottom, which allow objects to be fixed on the base (if possible, you can choose suitable slots to place the magnets. The lower half is open so that at the end of the process the filler material can be retrieved from the model. Because of this, such a honeycomb structure is inside the upper and lower edges of the pedestals.
NB! polarity in the case of magnets (Pulling - pushing)! Figure and pedestal; Pedestal and stand. A more reliable way is to use a magnet and a steel answer. Either press a steel disc or a magnet into the socket, which can be glued (with CA glue). The lower circle has the same possibility for installing magnets to attach/fix the base to the shelf (NB! steel shelf, Elfa, GWS, etc.). If it is necessary to fix it precisely, it is recommended to use a pin/pins, to drill holes in the appropriate place, both on the base and on the figure. The position/orientation of the figure can also be determined with the selection of magnetic slots (if this is important (for example: when adding an information board or label to the side surface of the pedestal. The figure is oriented and looks in the same direction as the label).
NB! the pin can be fixed either in the figure (or on the base), this allows the figure to be removed from the base. The pin fixes the position and the magnet holds the figure in place. These are still pedestals for static figures! The figure can be placed on a rotating base together with the base. A wire from (0.3 mm) is suitable for the pin; 0.5 mm, 1 mm, which is on hand and in use, and a spiral figure from the selection of the drill.
But the pedestals can also be used without magnets. The figure/figures can also be glued to the base (if necessary, use pins and fix the glue to the base).
Why such a design on the basis?
Magnetic fasteners allow you to remove the object from the base and put it back later. Allows you to use different exposures of the figure with one base. If you want to take a specific figure from the diorama and display it on its own base, or vice versa, this option is also taken into account in this particular solution.
