These have been designed to fit my local model railway club canal
They have been designed based on the lock gates found on the Taunton & Bridgwater Canal.
In the pictures one of the balance beams is a bit shorter, this was done so it didn't get damaged on the club layout (Files included are correct). The balance beam handle just needs some stiff wire to complete the hold handle, I used the wire from a resister (See photos).
This item has been designed at OO gauge, 1/76.2 scale. For HO Gauge print at 87%, 1/87 Scale,For O Gauge UK print at 175%, 1/43.5 scale,For O Gauge International print at 158%, 1/48 scale, for N Gauge UK print at 51.5%, 1/148 Scale, (Caution: I have not test printed this in N gauge scale).
Ground Paddle Gear has also been added now and these have been designed at OO gauge scale.
These models are not 100% correct but instead designed as realistic-looking models that can be easily printed and are fairly robust when used.
Examples in the photos was printed on an AnyCubic Photon M3 Resin Printer
I recommend printing these items on a 3D resin printer to get the best resolution print, for larger scales you might be able to print it on a filament printer (Not tested). As per normal with my designs, there is a balance between accuracy and printability, hopefully not affecting the design of the model too much.
There are three versions available. Bottom Lockgate and two versions of the top lockgate depending on if the lock is full or empty.
The main resins I use for printing can be found with my affiliated links below.I use AnyCubic Water Washable Resin for most of my items but use AnyCubic ABS Like Resin for anything that needs to be stronger and tougher.
