Been looking at doing this design for a while but took a while to get the enthusiasm due to the design due to its complexity. On a visit to Salisbury station in the past I spotted this design and thought it would be perfect to do a 3D model of for model railways. Girder supports like this are often found above main roads on the railways.
The bridge support at Salisbury station was about 14.5m long which I have used for this design, but in OO scale it is about 190mm long.
Please use photos to help you fit your layout to gauge height in relation to the track.
This is a complex design and took many hours to design due to the awkward design and shape, this design took months and months of thought on how best to draw it and turn it into a model.
This item has been designed in OO gauge, 1/76.2 scale. For HO Gauge print at 87%, 1/87 Scale, For O Gauge UK print at 175%, 1/43.5 scale, For O Gauge International print at 158%, 1/48 scale, For N Gauge UK print at 51.5%, 1/148 Scale, (Caution: I have not test printed this in N gauge scale).
The examples in the pictures were printed on an AnyCubic Proton M3 3D resin printer. I recommend printing these on a 3D resin printer to get the best print definition. As normal with my designs, there is a balance between accuracy and printability, hopefully not affecting the look of the model too much.
The main resins I use for printing can be found with my affiliated links below. I use AnyCubic Water Washable Resin for most of my items but use AnyCubic ABS Like Resin for anything that needs to be stronger and tougher.
