Bar Type Catchpits which are ideal for any layout, were found everywhere on UK railways.
These have been designed to be printed on any gauge of model railway, just need to be sized to the gauge you are using.I have produced these with different amounts of concrete rings, in real life these are set at various heights so this is why I have included four versions.
They have been designed at OO Gauge, 1/76.2 scale, for HO print at 87%, 1/87 scale, for O UK print at 175%, 1/43.5 scale, for O International print at 158%, 1/48 scale.for N gauge print at 51.49%, 1/148 scale. (Caution: I have not printed this model in N gauge so can’t guarantee its printability)
Dimensions in OO = L 17mm x W 10mm x D 2mm (Additional heights 1.5mm each concrete ring)
For example in photo is printed on an AnyCubic Photon. Recommend printing this item on a 3D resin printer. With the model I have had to balance accuracy with printability, I have done my best so that doesn't affect the look of this model. How you print the bars is important when printing this model.
What is a catch pit? A Catchpit is essentially an empty chamber with an inlet pipe and an outlet pipe set at a level above the floor of the pit. Any sediment carried by the system settles out whilst in the Catch-Pit, from where it can be periodically pumped out or removed. Usually covered by Grill or Manhole cover
I use AnyCubic Water Washable Resin for most of my items but use AnyCubic ABS Like Resin for anything that needs to be stronger and tougher.
