Ready to print Master Chief Helmet 3D model (digital file).
You can see my models after printing here: https://www.instagram.com/sonndersmith/
Final helmet consists of 2 main parts assembling together (base part and back part) by 2 pairs of neodimium magnets (I recommend using cylindrical magnets of 8-10 mm diameter and 5-8 mm length). Back part has special conic recesses for drilling holes for magnets. The helmet has many small high-detalized parts, which are sepatated from the main part and placed into individual files, so you can print the main piece by FDM printer and use photopolymer printing for small details (or just use better printing resolution for them). Both assembled parts have special conic recesses for drilling holes for magnets.
Back detachable part has 3 pieces, two of them (chip holder and holder plate) can be made of transparent resin and then painted in some places, so you can make spectacular blue lighting for this part.
AI chip can be placed at any time into special slot of back part, it will stay there because of magnet attraction. There're special recesses for the magnets in the chip and in the holder.
You need at least 220 x 210 x 200 mm build volume to print the mask. Contact me if your printer is smaller and I’ll split the files up according to your parameters.
Average wall thickness of each big part has an optimal value for resin casting: 4-5 mm.
I don’t mind if you’re going to sell masks made using my models, all I want from you is tagging me on Instagram in your relevant posts (@sonndersmith).
Listing contains:
low poly model of inner surface of the mask* in OBJ format.
Before 3D printing you can check the mask size by making a low poly version of it out of paper using Pepakura. If the paper mask fits to your head well, you may print the file, if not, try to change its size at a certain percentage and when you find the proper value just use the same percentage for 3D printing. This approach will help you to save a lot of filament and time.
The mask model is scaled for an average 58 cm girth head, but the size could be changed if necessary.
