J7W1 Shinden Scale Flying Aircraft 1000mm
This was considered a Japanese doomsday device, as an interceptor for bombers. Was one of the first ever front mounted Canard/Pusher aircraft. Only 2 of them ever made it to production and they never saw actual combat due to the war ending abruptly with the atomic bomb drops.
This is the first release of this air frame conversion, electronics are not yet compensated for in this build. This is a direct balsa to plastic conversion similar to the V1 Hellcat I have also completed in the same scale that seemed to generate a nice response. All spars and formers are consistent at 4mm thick. This plane is scalable all the way down to 50% for those of you just wanting to make some nice static models, the smaller you go the harder the supports get to remove. I actually ran a 50% model shown in the photos above and it resulted in 500mm aircraft that weighs right around 100grams total. The intent of this project tho is to eventually get it RC ready. Which one could do pretty easily with this model if they have ever worked with balsa built planes, by adding electronic platforms and such into the fuse using wood or craft sticks, However... the moment I start making plotted electronic cut outs and such into the actual model it loses its scale ability. So that will be left for an unscalable V2 version. For print setting its a 1wall line, 2 bottom, 2 top, at 10-20% infill using only gyroid infill pattern, anything else would not be strong enough for this style of plane.
