I'm a harmonica player. I created this harmonica for fun and to experiment with materials and designs of harmonica parts (coverplates and combs). Any 10-hole Marine Band harmonica can be fitted with these custom cover plates. Or, the Marine Band harmonica reed plates can be assembled with these 3D printed parts to create a fully functional harmonica.
The design can be rotated for printing with a wide veriety of filaments with or without supports. The photos show one I made of silver PLA.
The bottom and top covers are different but two of each can be printed and used for either purpose. Having the different top vs bottom cover helps promote a favorable tilted position.
This harmonica is designed with rounded ends. Common reed plates will protrude out the ends of this design. A file or power sander... can be used to trim the reedplate ends. Assembly will require small fasteners. A small drill bit may be required for this project.
This creates a very compact 10-hole harmonica for comfortable playing and pocket carry.
