Flower Class Corvettes were Royal Navy warships used to protect convoys from German Uboats bringing supplies to support the Allied War effort during the Battle of the Atlantic in WWII. This radio controlled model ship was printed in PLA on a 3D printer with a build volume of 210x186x160mm. Hull line drawings and other details were taken from Anatomy of a Flower Class Corvette-HMS Agassiz. Plan on using 4 to 5 boxes of filament. The hull is about 1.3 meters long and it alone took two boxes and ~200 hours to print. Hull details include 8.8mm prop shaft bore, weld lines, port holes, bilge strakes, scuppers, rudder post with servo mount and a motor mount for a Mabuchi 750 type brushed motor. The mid deck and and engine roof are removable for radio equipment and motor battery access. Scale details include depth charge racks/launchers, dinghys, life rafts, 4 inch gun, 2pdr gun, 20mm guns. All stl files manifold checked and printed. CURA v4.0 project files, compiled gcodes and instructions are also included.
The Aug 8, 2021 re - release contains reworked hull files that will work with other slicing programs like Simplify3D and PrusaSlicer. Cura is still the preferred slicer. People who already purchased the initial May 2019 release should be able to download the Aug 2021 re release for free.
