Fletcher Class Destroyers were the US Navy's workhorses during WWII. This is a 3D Printed Radio Controlled scale model warship and it is like the one used in the 2020 Tom Hanks movie Greyhound.
At 1/72th scale, the model dimensions are 1600L x 186W x 425H (mm). The hull and integrated deck are printed in six sections vertically. Hull details include dual 8mm propeller tube bores for 3.175mm propeller shafts, rudder servo mount, and bilge strakes. Left and right mounts are provided for brushed RS-550 type motors. Scale details include: MK-37/MK-51 FCS, MK-30 turrets, 40mm Bofors /20mm Oerlikon anti-aircraft weapons, quintuple torpedo tubes, depth charge racks, depth charge launchers, radar antennas, whale boats , life rafts and sailor figures.
Hull access is provided through three removable super structures and a rudder access deck plate.
STL files were designed in Sketchup and Cura sliced. 3D Printer used had a 300x300x340mm build volume.
