Description

Ready-to-print super detailed tunnel portals with retaining walls for H0-scale Model Railroad. Meets specifications for H0-scale tunnel portal standards. The STL-files with / without supports are included and all neccesary preparations are made to simplify print. Simply download, un-zip, save to USB and print. Enjoy!

The models are developed and test printed to verify function, detail and printability. Testing has been performed on a range of consumer grade resin 3D-printer to verify function.

We recommend using one of the following resins for high strength and super detail:

  • Siraya tech fast gray

IMPORTANT GENERAL NOTE TO AVIOD WARPING / SCEWING:

  • WASHING: Wash all items clean from resin preferrably in a washing mashine 6-8 minutes (Anycubic Wash & Cure 2.0)
  • POST CURING: Leave all items to dry after wash properly. Preferrably over-night / 24h. All sides, including inside surfaces, MUST be exposed to the UV-light. Recommended time: 4 minutes.
  • Paint the details immidiatly after post-curing using a primer. We recommend TAMAIYA Surface Primer Fine Gray.

*The Editorial licence of course includes unlimited printing for your own Model Railroad. However, the 3D models provided in this set must NOT be used for commersial production or re-sale of the 3D-models.

I've found that by scaling the tunnel portals to 40%, they make perfectly adequate passages for pedestrians. The reduction in scale in all axes results in a thin-walled article, which I corrected by wetting the back side with resin and curing with a handheld UV light, repeating as necessarily to until I got the required thickness.

Printed single portal in both filament and resin. Both good. Also printed the rectangular wall and was a bit surprised to find it was scaled at 1mm high. Rescaled it so that the size of the stones was about the same as the portal and printed it in both filament and resin. All good.

Great work! I've bought several of your models and really like the new tunnel portals. I'm working on a new HO layout and need larger retaining walls sections. I think that would appeal to many of your patrons. I hope you'll be adding that. In addition to the retaining walls, having some curved/arched retaining walls for the interior of tunnels would also be fabulous. Keep up the great work.
