BATTLESHIP YAMATO 3D Printable version - Complete kit UPDATED on 5/11/2023 (improved smoothing, including on hull surface)
GENERAL INFO - The model was created based on blueprints, photos and historical documentation.
The model is divided into 94 single parts, but some of these need to be printed several times (i.e. guns, turrets, gun fire controls, etc). The number of copies to print is indicated in the STL file name (i.e. type96 1945 turret (x8).stl means 8 copies for it) . Some parts, such as handrails, railings, brackets, bolts, etc are integrated, but most of them can be easily detached and printed separately if needed, as they are separated items.
Mitsubishi F1M2 floatplane included
The bigger parts fit inside a 20cmx20cmx20cm printable area
Once printed, you need to assemble, glue, putty if needed and paint all the parts
N.B. There are many little and tiny details. It's recommendable to use a resin 3D printer with a good print resolution. If some parts are not printed properly (such as railings) you have to detach and print them separately.
This is a high difficult 3D printing kit. You should be able to fix minor printing problems if you encounter any (depending on your slicing software and printer).
The scale model is 1/200.
The total lenght of the final assembled model is about 1.3 meters.
Please note: the dark-grey supports you can see in the images are not included in the stl files. You need to create them with your slicer software.
ATTENTION Due to the large number of parts it could take a very long printing time with the consumption of a considerable amount of resin
High-resolution renders of port side, starboard side and top view are included for assembly reference
For any difficult or question I am always available to give you assistance.
I would be very grateful if any of my models could help you to do a great job.
