1 96 Arleigh Burke DDG RC Model Ship

1 96 Arleigh Burke DDG RC Model Ship 3D print model

Description

The US Navy’s Arleigh Burke Class of Guided Missile Destroyers (DDGs) has strike, anti submarine and anti aircraft capabilities. Notable physical characteristics are the electronically scanned radar arrays and the guided missile Vertical Launch Systems (VLS), helicopter landing pads and hanger bays.

Hull and deck line drawings of the Flight IIA variant of the Arleigh Burke DDG were used to design a 1/96 scale model suitable for Radio Control. Visual details were picked off from the USS Nathan James (DDG-151) of “The Last Ship” TV Series and photos of the USS Dewey (DDG-105).The flat sides of the Arleigh Burke DDG’s upper deck superstructures permitted the design of detailed panels that could be printed on a flat bed for maximum resolution and ease of assembly. Hull details includes dual rudder posts, 9mm propeller bores, sonar dome, bilge strakes, and anchor passageways. Hull access is provided through two removable superstructures and a rudder hatch.Scale details include: Sonar dome, 5 inch gun, Phalanx CIWS, ODIN, Aegis/Fire Control radars, VLS launchers, Harpoon Anti Ship missiles, life rafts canisters, RHIBs, SATCOM domes, five blade propellers and an ASW Helicopter. Dual mounts for 550 or 750 type Mabuchi brushed motors and a servo mount are included.

The model dimensions are: 1605.2 mm x 227.2mm x 538.7 mm

If i reduce to 80 percent to print on my resin printer , what adjustments do you recommend for the stuffing tube and RC gear ?

the current bore size is 10 mm. scaling it down 80% would make it 8 mm. should be a problem for 550 size motors and stuffing tubes withan 8 mm O.D. Ben

download the free instruction manual here https://www.cgtrader.com/free-3d-models/military/other/1-96-arleigh-burke-ddg-rc-model-ship-assembly-instructions From the photos and stl list, you can get an idea of the smaller detailed parts that are suitable for resin printing. thanks Ben

The Builder/Seller is Great to Work with. He is very helpful with information and willing to help to make sure I understand All of the 3D files. I will Always buy one of his 3D files, if that is what I am after OR I will even suggest something for him to future design, if he is willing.
