DESCRIPTION

Fully functional water turbine for obtaining energy from small rivers. The turbine uses the kinetic energy of the water stream (horizontal design of the Kaplan turbine). Optimized adjustment and shaping of the fixed and rotor part of the turbine. Sophisticated models created in PTC Creo Parametric. Functionality verified in real life conditions.

  • The turbine consists of seventeen 3D printed parts, several purchased items and connecting material.
  • 3D printing parts mostly made of PLA (only ASA floats and FLEX seals) are designed for production on a small desktop 3D printer, eg PRUSA i3 Mk3S +.
  • The turbine achieves a power of 5 W at a water flow speed of 2 m/s
  • With electronic accessories (DC-DC converter) it can be used to charge a mobile phone, power bank or 12 V traction battery.
