This is an Item I was asked to design to go into model railway signal boxes.
Token machines are a key part of keeping railways safe and were commonly found in signal boxes to keep sections of track safe by controlling trains going into sections of track. They are less common in the digital era but are still used on a lot of railways.
I have created two versions of this design. The first version is just the Token Machine and the second version is located on top of a cabinet as I discovered at Williton Station Signal Box.
I would like to say a thank you to the staff at Williton Station on the West Somerset Railway who allowed me to take photos and measurements of one of their Token Machine to help design this item https://www.west-somerset-railway.co.uk.
This item has been designed at OO gauge, 1/76.2 scale. For HO Gauge print at 87%, 1/87 Scale,For O Gauge UK print at 175%, 1/43.5 scale,For O Gauge International print at 158%, 1/48 scale,For TT Gauge print at 63.5%, 1/120 scale, for N Gauge UK print at 51.5%, 1/148 Scale, (Caution: I have not test printed this in N gauge scale).
The examples in the pictures were printed on an AnyCubic Proton M3 3D resin printer, I have printed the examples in OO and O Gauge.I recommend printing these on a 3D resin printer to get the best print definition, this is a high-detail item and the item is fairly small. As per normal with my designs, there is a balance between accuracy and printability, hopefully not affecting the look of the model too much.
The main resins I use for printing can be found with my affiliated links below.I use AnyCubic Water Washable Resin for most of my items but use AnyCubic ABS Like Resin for anything that needs to be stronger and tougher.
