Version 1.5 (Designed circa 2012)
“As part of the main arsenal of the venerable Seeker squadrons, the Beamer has gained somewhat of a notoriety among enemies and subjugated populations. Many a tale has been told of commanders being instantly vaporised and entire armies thrown into disarray, all from a single shot of a lone Seeker agent. And where is this Seeker? A hundred miles away. Many worlds and their native species have been conquered this way, using the most expedient of strategies.”
Previously available on Shapeways (Model ID: E3PXEE34Z) the Beamer is based on the Null-Ray famously wielded by Starscream in the War for Cybertron video game. Measuring an impressive 10cm in length, it comes with a unique sniper scope which can be mounted on the 3mm clip rail on the top rear. It can be held normally with its 5mm peg, or it can be held with the fist sheath within the Beamer chassis.
To keep up with the times, a variant is included with a 3mm diameter peg on the barrel tip for use with blast effect parts.
Printing Tips:
This model have been successfully printed in SLS nylon, and have not been tested on FDM or SLA printers.
For FDM: it is probably best to print it lying on its side, using small layer heights (~0.1 - 0.15mm). Using a small nozzle diameter such as 0.2mm will not hurt either.
For SLA: The c-clip of the scope will flex for normal use. Ensure that your resin used allows some deformation to avoid breakage of the clip under pressure.
