Transformers Iconic Ship Series Iacon Dome Launchpad for G1 Ark

Transformers Iconic Ship Series Iacon Dome Launchpad for G1 Ark 3D print model

Description

Taking us right back to the start of Generation One when the Autobots blasted off into space in search of more energy - here we have the Iconic Iacon Dome Launchpad for the earlier Iconic Ships Series G1 Ark (https://www.patreon.com/posts/33354037)!

When closed, the dome should allow the G1 Ark to fit just nicely inside, and can be sited upon a standard CyberBase 2x2 base piece (https://www.patreon.com/posts/33140482)

Similarly to in the show, this piece has been designed to open up on two levels, to allow the Ark to launch off into space! The top layer first hinges outwards and over the edges of the layer below, followed by the middle layer folding out and over the lowest layer:

===

In terms of assembly, this set comprised of three layers of the dome, which are connected with the corresponding hinges.

The Mid and Lower sections can be printed without supports for a faster and more robust print. The hinges are best printed sideways for optimal strength.

When opening the dome, you will notice that there are notches in the sides of the top level's hinges to allow them to hang over the edges of the level below them.

Some sanding may be required to get things to fit nicely ;)

===

Well then, hope y'all have as much fun 3d printing and putting this one together as we did designing it! =)
