The series was written by John Semper Jr and produced by Marvel Films Animation. This animated series is considered the most successful of Spider-Man.

Due to the crossover with the X-men in Season 2, with the same lineup from X-Men The Animated Series, it was confirmed that they share the same universe. It also shares the same universe with the second season of Iron Man.
