And coming in here to fill (literally) a common bugbear for most for for the recent WFC Kingdom Ark - here are a pair of side filler plates!
In case anyone's wondering, these were 3d printed in yellow and then painted a color-matched paint on the exterior and a dark grey for the inside face, to make it more consistent with the rest of the Ark.
These peg into a top triangular notch in the side skirts of the Ark - just need to slide the flush bottom in side and aim to notch the triangular peg to hold it all in place.
With this installed, this will allow you to fill in the originally large gap in the side making for a more uniform external ship hull.
With the side filler in place, you'll also notice that it provides for a 5mm port and a two 3mm pegs if you would like to attach other accessories and effect parts respectively.
For this, we've also included a set of mini turrets (one with a 5mm peg and another with a 3mm hole), which can be used to augment this side plate. Or simply attached anywhere else on the Ark or other figures!
As a bonus, these turrets can be rotated of course, and their barrels are also sized to also allow effect parts to be added on for more bloooosh! Here's showing an effect part on the front 3mm peg too.
While this is all fine and dandy for the Ark in its spacecraft mode, these side filler plates will have to be removed for his transformation into the robot mode. So, to provide some storage options for these, the plates can also be pegged onto the rear side of Ark's legs.
This makes use of a little port hole in the detailing on the rear leg plate, but its not a very deep hole. So while this may suffice for display on shelves, there's still a chance of them popping off while posing or playing with the Ark in robot mode. So just something to consider :)
Understandably, as most folks may prefer to have the Ark in spacecraft mode for display, there's an additional bottom peg which can be used optionally to provide an even tighter fit.
This allows this side filler piece to peg both into the top and bottom triangular notches which are present in the softer rubber end tips (i.e.: the parts which had to be self assembled onto the Ark when first out of the box).
And there we have it - a nice little set which we hope can help augment the look of your Autobot Ark too. Happy 3d printing! =)
