From the seas of the Eocene, the dolphin-like basilosaurid whale Dorudon (“spear tooth”). In life these ancient whales were around 15ft (~5m) long and may have been a favorite prey of their larger cousin Basilosaurus. Unlike their modern relatives Dorudon lacked a melon-organ in their foreheads needed for echolocation, and also still possessed external (albeit vestigial) hind legs.
At 15in (-38cm) long when assembled this 1/12 Dorudon will scale more or less with other action figure lines such as Figma, Figuarts, Marvel Legends, Star Wars Black Series, Jurassic World Amber Collection, and several others.
NOTE:This model is still being refined for making joints stiffer and adjusting parts to allow better articulation when printed in SLS nylon. An FDM-compatible print is in the works and will be uploaded once successfully tested.
NOTE: Item is not a toy. Not for children under 18yrs old.
This print is designed currently for SLS nylon through Sculpteo.com using polished standard 100um tolerance nylon. It has not been tested in any other material or process so far, printing through any other way or material should be done at user’s discretion.
When using SLS Nylon from sites such as Sculpteo, only use raw or polished finishes for either PA12 or PA12 (HD-60μm). Avoid using Chemically-Smoothed option as this will cause joints to be too loose and will not hold poses. No other materials have been tested for this print, be it professional or home-printers, so print and experiment at your own discretion.
