This calibration model is a straw mini bow. Add a standard rubber band and paper straw and you are ready to go. You can also store the straw on the bow and clip the bow to a backpack or belt. Pictured product was printed at .25mm layer thickness. Infill threshold set to 20cu mm to force infill testing. 30min print time for bow only. The handle is an optional convenience piece is printed separately from the bow body.
This design serves to test various aspects of your printer calibration. - smooth surface areas - flat areas requiring bridging (handle receptor area) including areas over auto-generated infill (rubber band tie points) - smooth overhanging features (less than 45 degrees) and smoothly sloped surfaces to reveal layer steps along both the x and y axis - horizontal holes to test 3d printer bridging - thin 1mm walls to test gapping between thin walls - setting infill threshold to 20cu mm will force hollow areas w/infill during print and speed up print time. - embossed surface details to test 3D printer resolution - embossed star detail on the bottom of the model will test for any first layer squashing - moving part to test printer clearances (clip) between separating pieces (.2mm)
