Life-Sized BD-1 3D File Set - Print Your Own Droid!
I am thrilled to finally release this set of 3D files that allow you to print your very own life-sized BD-1!This high-quality set has been build with over 200 hours of research, 3D modeling, testing, and 3d printing, ensuring that every detail of BD-1’s design is accurate and ready for printing.
To ensure everything works perfectly, I printed two additional BD-1 models in different colors, which took another 200+ hours, further fine-tuning the design.
What’s Included:
Detailed 3D Files: High-resolution files split into smaller parts for easy printing. Choose from two pre-colored versions for multicolor printing: the Bee-D1 and the classic BD colors.
Comprehensive Guide: Includes a complete hardware and tools list, build videos and digital walktrough, also checkout my instagram story about BD to see the full process of creating this little guy.
Optional Features: different versions of the LED backplate and eyes, with details on how I added lights to my model in the easiest way, no Arduino coding required (though you can go that route if you prefer).
Key Features:
Size: BD-1 stands at 40cm in height in his resting pose (without the antenna).Parts: The model is made up of about 60 parts, with optional LED components.Material Requirements: For a single-color print, you’ll need about 1.8kg of filament (based on the settings provided). My multicolor version used 2.2kg.For this build I am using threadinserts, so you will need a soldering iron!
Tested Files: Every file has been tested on my FDM Bambu X1, ensuring everything fits perfectly. If using a resin printer, some parts might need adjustments like sanding or rescaling to fit perfect.
Important Notes:The files are provided in STL formatThese files are for personal use only.Commercial use, including selling prints or the files themselves, is prohibited.
