Onwards with this new addition to the Iconic Ships series - presenting the Autobot Ark as it appeared in Fall of Cybertron!
With its very intricate stylings on a massively bulky superstructure, it was interesting to pull this one together. This is easily the largest in the series, purposefully so to allow for more detailing to be added.
Similar to the last Iconic Ship, the design allowed for 5mm ports to be added to the centre of all the rear engines, so WFC effects can be added for a more dynamic display.
When balanced on a couple of attached WFC effect parts, it could also be displayed in a launching mode of sorts.
Assembly-wise, the Ark comes as four parts which can be pegged together using 5mm rods to help with positioning. Once printed out and assembled, this is a pretty fun piece to paint up
The engines should fit in quite snuggly into their respective slots, so if you leave it unglued, there would be the possibility of separating the pieces for easier storage. Or have the engines slightly tilted for a different look.
Due to the dimension and bulk of this piece, there are 3 holes for attaching the stand part to it in case you need to shift the balance a little to the front or rear. As a little tip, if you use slightly thinner rods for this purpose, it may be possible to display the Ark slightly tilted to see more details too.
As always, do have fun 3d printing and adding this to your Iconic Ships collection! =D
