Everything printed fine but the hinges are not part of the download. Could you please update this so the hinges are available? Thanks

Hi, Can you explain how the bottom part of the shells are supposed to connect to the base? Also, the images make it look like the shells can pivot open, I'm not seeing how that would happen. Almost as if a hinge is missing. Can you shed some light on how it goes together? Great detail but the way!

Hey there, there is hinge mechanism for the sides so that help it opens, then there is small shell at the bottom so that the sides shells attach to it with hinge, and the smaller egg shape goes on top and with that owl head it can close, by the end whole pieces sit on a stand. Pls let me know if you have more concerns thanks (:

Thank you for the quick reply. I think you may have forgotten to add the hinge to the download. I received 7 parts, and I don't see a hinge as one of them. Could you tell me which part the hinge mechanism is supposed to be. Thanks again.

@ Ceredirdesign did you update to INCLUDE the hinge piece(s) tho?? Because you can't charge people for a download that is missing parts!

Hey there, you should use metal hinges it works the best in that scale.

Hey. I made a WORKING version of this model. It even lets you add a tea light or fairy lights. I posted it on Makerworld. for Free. Its for a competition so its only on that site for now but I will probably post it on thingiverse and printables in a few weeks. But anywho. For those who want a mechanical version, I made one, print tested it, polished it. just search "harry potter golden egg" on makerworld.com and you will find it. Cheers,

This model appears to be a 3D scan that has not been set up to 3D print. I have tried many different support designs but still have had all failures on each of the egg shell parts. The challenge is to support the shell without loosing the intricate detail on the outer surface and still keep it from falling over. I'm 0 for 4 so far. I have by trial and error re-oriented the top owl and bottom egg shell to finally come up with a configuration that prints but took much post processing to clean up. The base I thought look simple, however it was a mesh solid that was not flat on the bottom and when printed, my printer doesn't recognize the bottom as closed. I had to take the model into my CAD program and re-draw it. The summary is that I paid $15 for the model and I have a pile of failures sitting on my table.
