Many people within the model railway world use Handheld Controllers to control their DCC trains and when a handheld holder bracket broke at my model club the idea to design brackets that people could print came about.
This holder has been designed for the GaugeMaster Prodigy handheld controllers. I have created two holders for this item. One of the holders holds the controller at the neck point where the controller widens and the other is for sitting the controller in.
These holders have been designed to be printed on an FDM printer but can also be printed on a resin 3D printer. When printing I recommend printing in the vertical position (See Photos), the reason for printing in this orientation is that no supports are needed when printing.
When printing on a FDM printer I recommend you use a filament like PETG or PLA+. you can use PLA but be aware of the limitations of PLA. I have included screw holes for fixing to your layout.
The example in the pictures was printed on a Bambu Labs A1 with a 0.4mm nozzle and a layer height of 0.12mm using PLA+.
The Filament I used was AnyCubic PLA+ and you can find it on Amazon with my associate link https://amzn.to/4ghbcn5
