CyberBase System Simple Pillars and Backdrop Holders 3D print model

Note: This is a digital product of 3d printable STL files for use on a 3d printer

This CyberBase set is a little more of a utility addon to allow you to displays up much more quickly, as there were some feedback that 3d printing the Cyberbase back wall took a long time (which it does!)

So, this is essentially a set of (1) simplified pillars without the detailing, which will print faster [and stronger on its sides] and (2) a series of backdrop holders.

Shown in the photos are backdrop holder with 2mm slots on the extreme left and right, followed by a pair of simple pillars and then a backdrop of your choosing (in this case it was printed out and glued to a piece of 2mm foamcore board)

 Simplified Pillars

These are simplified versions of the earlier pillars without the detailing on the insides, allowing them to be  more quickly and robustly 3d printed horizontally on your 3d printer.

Assuming the bridging works ok on your printer, you will only need to have supports on the 2 end tabs.

Backdrop Holders

Next the backdrop holders (with varying slot sizes of 2mm, 3mm and 4mm - depending on the thickness of your backdrop) can be printed and attached to the inside of the pillars. Your backdrop of choice can then be inserted into them.

All you need is a printed A4 backdrop and a similarly sized foamcore board in addition to the 3d printed parts we will need. You may also use a plastic sheet or cardboard or any other sturdy material which you may have handy.

Using spray adhesive or similar glue, attached the printed backdrop to the backing board. From here, its normally safer to cut the backdrop a little larger, and then cutting them down to size to fit as you get the pieces assembled in place. An A4 sized piece should net you 2 of these backings :)

And there you have it! Should be much faster than 3d printing a lot of the backdrop pieces and guess this will also give you a lot of variety of choice for the backdrops you prefer!

[Feb 2025 Update]Added - Updated versions with hexagonal pegs which will fit more snugly and still print just as easily. These will come with the suffix _Ver2.
