Battle Angel Alita Dr Ido Rocket Hammer Printable Assembly

Battle Angel Alita Dr Ido Rocket Hammer Printable Assembly 3D print model

Description

A 3d model of the rocket hammer / jet hammer used by Doctor Ido in the movie Alita Battle Angelthe model is a total of 168cm tall with the hammer part being 82cm long but the model can easily be scaled and remain printablethe entire model is designed for good printability and practicality and includes both parametric files for easy editing and printable stl and mesh files with high meshing qualityit also includes the full one part model as well as one split up into 14 parts that can be fit into a regular printer and assembled using 6 1600mm long and 4 620mm long 6mm diameter support rods although those would have to be resized if the model is scaled and the parts can be further divided up for even easier printingthe rear / jet part of the hammer has an opening which can fit a fan and LED's which combined with fabric can be used to make an LED jet effectI will probably add some modified/updated variants when the bluray of the movie releases - those will be added to this page for free and I will try to keep part boundaris for the assembly the same so that the parts that don't actually change stay the same and can be used on

Print and photos by Gregory Belland - I designed it full scale but he scaled it down and with a resin printer and painting skills managed to get some amazing detail into this size

Printed this at 1:1 and it is absolutely awesome. Beautiful work!

How much would this cost to have printed? i found a different model online, and online services want 400-1400 to print it, thats a bit much.

depends on how you have it printed, what material, infill, etc you use, if you scale it down a little and what print service you use but the full model is just short of 14 liters or 14000 cm³ of inprinted volume so 1400$ is a pretty fitting estimate if you have it printed out by someone I don't currently do printjobs but I guess the cheapest way to get this would be to get yourself a 3d printer and print it out yourself at full scale but with low infill it's probably about 4 standard rolls of filament and it should be printable with a relatively basic printer

I started printing this 1 to 1 and it looks amazing, but with an 82cm rocket end it's much bigger then then movie one. Does anyone know the actual prop size to re scale it to? I could guess, but I want to get as close as I can.

I couldn't estimate the exact size but given how I tried to estimate it I think something like a 10% error might be plausible - couldn't find any official size though
