Commodore 64 Game System C64GS Enclosure 3D print model

This project allows you to re-create your own (and sometimes rare) C64GS system from scratch. You can utilize the C64C motherboard for that, the only thing to do is to de-solder the connector and solder a vertical one.

This 3d model is an exact enclosure of the C64 Game System with its sticker and its photos, re-drawn manually from a real unit.

The Commodore 64 Games System (often abbreviated C64GS) is the cartridge-based home video game console version of the popular Commodore 64 home computer. It was released in December 1990 by Commodore. It was only released in Europe and was a considerable commercial failure.The C64GS was essentially a cut-back version of the original Commodore 64, and the games developed for it could also be run on the original computer.The specifications of the C64GS are a subset of those of the regular C64; the main differences being the omission of the user port, serial interface, and cassette port. Since the system board is a regular C64C board these ports are present, but not exposed at the rear.

Features:

The model is accurately re-drawn from a real C64 GS systemThere are 5 parts - bottom, top, black shield, and 2 brackets, all of them have both source (STEP file) and STL, as well as SolidWorks files. Also, there is a sticker in PDF and CorelDraw format.

I do recommend to print it on a popular Chinese 3d printing and PCB factory which you can easily find on search. It took only ~79 USD to print this enclosure at their factory using SLA White Resin. Protect the prints from sun, temperature, and UV exposure!

You can also print this model manually, but you must split it into parts before. For the printing, I recommend PLA filament, because it is easier to print such models using it.

While the C64GS was a commercial failure, it is really hard to find it now, and if you want to collect Commodore devices, you can make your own C64GS easily.
