I like making boxes. It's as simple as that. There's just something about designing ornate and intricate jewellery and gift boxes which I find really rewarding, and as I'm getting better at designing things the intricacy of the boxes just gets greater!
A while ago I made a jewellery box in the shape of a Treasure Chest and I wanted to update the design, but I could never get the lid to the point where I was happy with it. Then I realised that rather than making a chest I could make a trunk and it all just came together (geeky design detail: this is also the first box where I've managed to make a functional 3D printed hinge I'm happy with). The Treasure Trunk is now to the point where I'm happy to release it into the world!
The Trunk is made from various 3D printed panels, all held together with a rigid frame (also 3D printed of course). By default the body is printed in brown and the framing is printed in bronze-gold, but if you'd like it printed in other colours then please have at it, I'll be happy to see the results!
You can order a Treasure Trunk, printed and assembled and even with a small laser-engraved plaque for extra personalising, in my Etsy store - www.etsy.com/uk/shop/enterprisexddesign
