Presenting the next desk accessory in the DOMO line...DOMOPHONE Phone Stand...!
At 3.25D and 1.75H, DOMOPHONE matches the other elements of the series, including the concentric ring base detail, with a tiny raised center nub which allows DOMOBITS to spin; the concentric ribs also make raft removal easier. DOMOPHONE can be used right off the printer, and if you want to adjust the spin, sand the nub lightly as desired. The phone slot is 0.50" wide, and fits the widest iPhones; here, it's shown with a 6 Plus. For added convenience, the compartment in the back comfortable holds a set of standard iPhone wired earbuds.
For no spin, add any 3"D self-adhesive felt, foam or rubber pad to the bottom; DOMOPHONE's base has a wide outer ring, for extra gripping surface. Adhesive-backed felts and foams are usually available at craft stores, but self-adhesive rubber pads are more difficult to find. One source is http://www.mcmaster.com, and you'd have to cut the discs yourself...unless you can print with flexible filaments...and their Item #1376N33, is a 4” wide x 36” long x 1/16” thick strip of adhesive-backed neoprene rubber, in 60A ( Medium Hard) durometer; it’s under $20. One strip yields a dozen pads for any DOMOBIT.
Note that this is just a stand, with no power connection; it's merely a convenient, nice -looking way to prop up your phone, and coordinate with the DOMOBITS series.
All DOMOBITS designs have gone through several iterations, each printed and tested.Enjoy!
