Sleeping Kitten SECRET BOX-3d Printable Realistic Tabby Cat 3D print model

This realistic little golden cat (metallic gold or silver PLA will make its coat shimmer) hides a secret! It can hold a key, cash, or anything valuable you'd like to conceal on a shelf. It is 3d Printable.

I spent an ungodly amount of time on this idea. It originally had a hinged lid and fasteners but this required it to be split in half and flipped, creating a massive seam down the middle. I ended up with this compromise which allows the cat to be as realistic as possible and all in one piece, with no support scars.

Because PLA is slightly flexible, the lid underneath is push snapped in and holds by spring force. In order to open the box, stick any kind of hook or screwdriver in the hole and pull and it will pop off, or pry the side tab. If you want a hide-a-key to use daily, you can simply leave the bottom off.

The kitten's face has had some rework from the earlier statue to enhance the eyelids and make some other body parts more clear for one color or metallic prints.

Both cat and lid are a single STL so can be scaled easily. The original is 245mm but is a high poly graphic so it can be upscaled to mancoon size if wanted. Larger sizes may show more detail. For a hide-a-key sized mini kitten box, I recommend 120mm length as printed here. Can be painted with stripes to your taste, or as here in reflective gold.

Printed in Cura - Layer Height: 0.2 - Support: use NONE - Printed with Jayo Light Gold PLA, but any metallic gold or silver will make the coat sparkle

The model depicted is 120mm.I currently don't have a full size print but my printer is pretty slow, waiting to see if there's any further interest in this. Larger size may show more detail.
