He is the lead guitarist of the American rock group Guns N 'Roses, returning after almost twenty years out of the band. In 2004, he co-founded the Velvet Revolver supergroup with his fellow Guns N 'Roses, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum, guitarist Dave Kushner (former member of Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves) and singer Scott Weiland.
In 1994 he formed the band Slash's Snakepit with which he recorded two albums, one in 1995 and the second in 2000, during a rest period in which he did not compose new songs, afterwards he formed Slash's Blues Ball, a band strictly for live shows. that made versions of songs of the genre blues. Several magazines have placed him at the top of his ranking of guitarists.
In the world of rock music, Slash has received critical acclaim as a guitarist. Time named him first on his list of the 10 best electric guitarists in 2009.2 Guitar World ranked his solo on November Rain number 6 on his list of The 100 Greatest Guitar Solos in 2008, and Total Guitar put on his riff of Sweet Child O 'Mine in first place in its list of the 100 Best Riffs in 2004. In 2012, it was included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, along with other members of Guns N' Roses.3 Rolling Stone magazine placed Slash at # 65 on its list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time in 2011. In 2016, it was again part of the band Guns N 'Roses, after being separated by a dispute with Axl Rose.
