Murdoc Alphonce Faust Niccals is the official bassist, self-proclaimed leader, and founder of Gorillaz. He is also considered an English composer, record producer, singer, dancer, actor, and philanthropist.
Murdoc is the mastermind behind Gorillaz. He is a rather sarcastic, cruel, arrogant, and egotistical character, a personality he developed over the years thanks to the abuse and mistreatment he suffered from his father since childhood. Upon discovering the Heavy Metal music genre, he also delved into Satanism.
Murdoc is based on Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, Creeper from Scooby-Doo, Victor Frankenstein, and Morgan Nicholls, a friend of Jamie Hewlett and bassist for Gorillaz during Phase Two. He is also based on Damon Albarn himself, with many of the events that happen to Murdoc and the things Murdoc says being based on Albarn's own.

Murdoc es la mente maestra detrás de Gorillaz, es un personaje bastante sarcástico, cruel, arrogante y ególatra, personalidad que fue desarrollando durante años gracias a los abusos y maltratos que sufrió desde su niñez por parte de su padre. Al conocer el género musical Hecavy Metal, se fue adentrando también en el satanismo.
Murdoc está basado en el guitarrista de los Rolling Stones, Keith Richards, Creeper de Scooby-Doo, Victor Frankenstein y Morgan Nicholls, un amigo de Jamie Hewlett y bajista de Gorillaz durante la Fase Dos. También se basa en el propio Damon Albarn, con muchos de los eventos que le suceden a Murdoc y las cosas que dice Murdoc se basan en las de Albarn.
