Chinese Northern and Southern Dynasties style JiaoDou sculpture

Chinese Northern and Southern Dynasties style JiaoDou sculpture 3D print model

Description

This model was made in ZBrush. It has been integrated into a single subtool through Boolean operations in ZBrush, and optimized and reduced to a closed high-poly model of triangular faces without subdivision levels through DecimationMaster. The model contains two versions, one without a spout and one with a spout. The number of faces of a single model is about 6 million. In preparation for 3D printing, I pre-processed the model in Blender, dividing it into the main body, neck, head, foot, tail, liu, and handle. The size is 255*248*332mm, the clearance tolerance is 0.2mm, the overall height is 33cm, and the output is in stl format. For details, see the screenshots. There is no actual printing test yet. The uncut one-piece model is exported in obj format, and the output size is also 255*248*332mm. In addition, the rendering is completed in Keyshot. If necessary, a bip download is provided, with material lighting, but no UV mapping.

The prototype of the model comes from a bronze dragon-headed and animal-footed JiaoDou from the Southern and Northern Dynasties period in China, which is now in the collection of the Cleveland Museum of Art in the United States.

JiaoDou(鐎斗) is a bronze vessel with three legs and a handle on the side in ancient China. It was originally used as a marching tool for the army, used to cook rice and warm wine, and could also be struck at night to report or warn. Later, it was spread among the people and gradually evolved into a gorgeous shape. The three legs were often shaped into the shape of animal feet, and the handle was usually decorated with animal heads such as dragons, tigers, and unicorns. It was popular in the Han, Wei, and Jin Dynasties, and gradually disappeared in the Tang and Song Dynasties. It was mainly used for boiling tea and warming wine.

The update adds a new version, which adds support decoration at the junction of the “liu” and the main body. You can get more information from the preview pic.If any question please write to me.
